Keeping “TABS” on a Great Cause!

General Shale has a long history of making positive impact in communities across the country.  With the help of our dedicated employees, we embrace many opportunities for community involvement – whether it’s a small organization in our area or a large, national one like Habitat for Humanity.  We really love the collaboration of community work – everyone playing a unique role towards a common goal.

Our brick products can be an integral part of restoring businesses or homes devastated by natural disasters and fires.  Knowing we can’t do it alone, we’re grateful to have outstanding partners to help us provide the right building solution for restoration projects.

Recently, a tragic fire had displaced a Murfreesboro, Tennessee family – the kitchen and front of their home was badly damaged. Swinging into action, the Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity partnered with General Mills, through an extension of the Pillsbury “Made at Home” Campaign to restore this home, complete with a new, fully equipped, kitchen. When asked if we could provide materials for the new exterior, we were happy to know we’d be working with a great partner – TABS Wall Systems!

The TABS system was the ideal solution to help the team install a thin veneer wall efficiently and effectively.  Since these types of community projects rely so heavily on volunteers, the TABS solution is a perfect fit.  Not only does it work seamlessly with our thin brick product, the system’s smart design makes it accessible enough for volunteers to install the new wall themselves.

For this Murfreesboro home renovation, the team applied Old Brick Originals™ Thin Brick to the TABS Wall System.  Together, the TABS system and our thin brick helped provide this home with a beautiful, more durable exterior that will last for years to come!
