Our Holiday Spirit is Wrapped Up!

Over the month of December, our special General Shale employees spent some quality time with a few wonderful organizations. We love to express our giving spirit in the community that we work and live in. We wanted to share a few of those activities.

First Tennessee Adult Day Services

One of our favorite days of the whole year is our visit to the local Adult Day Services facility in Johnson City. We sponsor and participate in an annual Christmas Party jam-packed with activities, including festive entertainment, gift giving and delicious treats. We are humbled and honored to work with this wonderful organization! Learn more about the important work done by the First Tennessee Human Resource Agency.

The Salvation Army USA Angel Tree Program

Each year, the Salvation Army assists 25 million Americans through wide ranging programs, including disaster support, assistance for the elderly, veteran programs, and much, more more. For the holidays, the Angel Tree Program supplies new toys and clothes to 1 million children. Check out the many holiday activities that you and your family, friends, church, or community can get involved in.

Our General Shale family truly answered the call for our Angel Tree drive.

Here’s a quick video of General Shale employees loading up the truck – the falling snow really added to our festive spirit!

Washington County TN Animal Shelter

Another cause near and dear to our General Shale hearts is the Annual Tails and Paws adoption drive – they are truly our neighbors! Again this year, we joined forces with other local businesses in our area to support this important event. By covering the costs of spaying and neutering, together we can help ensure that lots of pets are ready (and affordable) for adoption!

Here are the highlights of the very successful, 5th Annual event:

34 Dogs and 45 Cats adopted

Tons of food, toys, blankets donated – plus $3,500 in case donations and counting!

If you are in the Johnson City area, you can check them out at tailchaser.org. We’ve heard that more cats than dogs are available this year. Who could pass on these cute faces?

A HUGE thank you goes out to our wonderful employees for their amazing generosity and wonderful spirit! Happy New Year everyone!
